The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament Monday night.The Wildcats fell to North Carolina 86-74 in a second round game in Albuquerque, New Mexico. UK finishes the season with a 25-9 record.Louisville resumes play Tuesday in the tournament. The Cards take on Xavier at 7:00pm in Cincinnati.The NCAA men’s tournament resumes Thursday. Louisville's Bellarmine University can advance to the Final Four of the men's NCAA Division II tournament Wednesday with a victory over Midwestern State. Tipoff at Springfield, Massachusetts is noon Eastern time.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
