NCIC Meeting This Week In Louisville

From WFPL's Cassidy HerringtonLouisville will be the site of the National Council for International Visitors’ annual Midwestern regional meetingthis week. The World Affairs Council is hosting the event, and visitors from the State Department and grassroots organizations from across the nation are expected to attend.World Affairs Council President Ben Jones says the conference focuses on communication and diplomacy with international visitors.“The conference is going to consist of about 125 people from Washington D.C. and from around the country who are going to be here to look at ways to improve the International Visitor Leadership program. They are going to be talking about how to develop programs for and how to handle visitors from other countries,” Jones said.The conference will be held Monday through Thursday at the downtown Hyatt Regency.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
