New Adopt-a-Park Partners Named

Ten new ‘adopt-a-park’ volunteer organizations were announced this morning. The neighborhood groups have agreed to at least four volunteer days a year to help beautify a specific park.Mayor Jerry Abramson says it helps Louisville maintain its green spaces in a tough budget year.“Keeping those parks clean and keeping them look as good as possible is very important," says Abramson, "and yet it becomes more and more difficult with financial situations as they are and to have government, and government alone, handle the cleanup and beautification of our parks.”Some of the new groups volunteering are the Louisville Bicycle Club, the Old Louisville Neighborhood Association and the Louisville Disc Golf Association.
