New Paint, Repairs on the Way for Clark Memorial Bridge

by Stephanie CrosbyUpdates and improvements to the Clark Memorial Bridge are scheduled for next year, but the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is moving ahead with renovations to the Kentucky approach because of the construction of the new downtown arena.Spokesperson Andrea Clifford says it’s a good time to spruce up the short approach on the Kentucky side of the bridge.“With construction going on at the arena, and some improvements at Second Street, through a transportation enhancement grant from the Downtown Development Corporation, we felt like it was good to go ahead and make the improvements on the Kentucky approach at this time," says Clifford.She says the updates will include new paint, some handrail replacement and sidewalk repairs.The new color was selected from the federal government’s approved list of bridge colors by the Downtown Development Corporation.
