by Stephanie CrosbyA new website called Kix.com pledges to use the tools of social networking sites to help people find jobs. It includes employers and job-seekers in a 26-county area in Kentucky and southern Indiana.Mike Gritton with Kentuckiana Works, one of the groups involved in the project, says it’s a tool for those who are looking to bring on new workers.“For employers, what’s awesome about this website is, they can post jobs for free," says Gritton. "Once they start going and posting jobs for free, there’s al kind of stuff they can learn there. We did the most comprehensive employer survey that has ever been done in the 26-county area, and all that information is there at the click of a button.”Kix.com also includes features regularly seen with social networking platforms, like blogs and discussion boards. It’s funded by the WIRED65 program, which is part of the U.S. Department of Labor.
