Help is on the way. That’s what President-elect Barack Obama told Kentucky Governor Steve
Beshear and other governors meeting in Philadelphia Tuesday.

Beshear says Mr. Obama told the National Governors Association the help could come in the form
of an economic stimulus package.

They know that the federal government is going to have to partner with the states in order for all our people in this country to pull through and come out on the other side of this recession,” Beshear said.

He says the president-elect wants to put together a stimulus package that will address a number of state concerns, including infrastructure needs and growing demands on Medicaid and unemployment insurance.

The president-elect takes office late next month.
