President Barack Obama talked with a potential political rival Friday.Mr. Obama and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels chatted for several minutes when the president arrived in Indianapolis to give a speech on energy policy.Daniels is considering seeking the GOP nomination for president, and his decision whether to run is expected soon. He did not attend the president's speech, which was at Allison Transmission.In that speech, Mr. Obama said the hybrid transmission system being built in Indianapolis can help reduce America's dependence on foreign oil. The president traveled to Fort Campbell, Kentucky after the speech to meet with troops, including members of the Navy SEAL team that raided Osama bin Laden's Pakistani compound on Sunday. It was Mr. Obama's first trip to Kentucky as president.
