Officials Expecting 80,000 For UK-U of L Game/Festivities

The battle for the Governor's Cup is Saturday in Lexington as the University of Kentucky and U of L football teams wage their annual battle.Lexington and UK police are bracing for some 80,000 people in and around Commonwealth Stadium, and will have extra officers in place to deal with problems related to alcohol, littering or illegal parking.A Game Day Task Force was formed in 2007 after there some unruliness following the last UK-U of L game in Lexington.UK Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart says the university wants to prevent that from happening again tomorrow."We want to ask our fans, in every way shape or form, to clean up around them, to be safe in what they do, to be respectful in the way they park their cars and the way that they manage themselves every moment, and take care of keeping the university of kentucky name strong and proud," Barnhart said this week.Saturday's kickoff is at noon.Kentucky has a two-game winning streak in the series. The Cards have a 9-6 record against the Wildcats since the series was revived in 1994.
