Several Louisville agencies are joining forces again this year to offer various services to the homeless in a one-stop environment. The 2012 Project Homeless Connect/VA Stand Down is Wednesday at The Salvation Army on the old Male High School campus on Brook Street starting at 8:30am.Natalie Harris with the Coalition for the Homeless expects hundreds of homeless people to get assistance at the event, many of them veterans."We have everything from a flu shot to signing up for housing services to a bowl of chili to anything that a person might need to get as services and they can get all there in one day," she said.Harris says several TARC buses will provide transportation from shelters to the site.According to the most recent numbers, more than 8,100 people were homeless in Louisville at some point in 2011.
