Parkland Voters Approve Alcohol Sales

By Rick HowlettVoters in a west Louisville neighborhood have approved alcohol sales throughout their precinct.About one-fourth of the precinct in the Parkland neighborhood has been dry, but voters on Tuesday approved alcohol sales throughout the 19-block area. The effort to make the entire precinct wet was led by former Metro Councilwoman Denise Bentley, who said she wanted to help spur economic development in the neighborhood. Those in favor of keeping the wet/dry split say they're concerned about a proliferation of liquor stores in the neighborhood. The vote to extend sales was 89-41.
