Paul Releases Statement on Ohio County Surface Mine Accident

Expressing sympathy to the families, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., issued a statement regarding the mining accident in Ohio County that resulted in the death of two workers."I would like to offer my condolences to the families of the two miners who were killed this morning in Western Kentucky. I appreciate the dedication of Kentucky’s coal community, and here in the U.S. Senate, I will continue to work hard on their behalf,” he says.The accident killed 47-year-old Darrel Winstead of Madisonville and 23-year-old Samuel Lindsey of Mortons Gap, who were trapped early this morning when a mine highwall caved in.
