PGA Events Returning To Valhalla

The PGA of America made it official Thursday, announcing that two of its top events will return to Louisville over the next several years. It wasn't one of the best kept secrets in Louisville, but PGA President Jim Remy says he's no less excited to announce that for the third time, Valhalla Golf Club will host the PGA Championship, this one in 2014. It will also be the site of the 2011 Senior PGA Championship.

"This is maybe one of the greatest sites to watch golf," Remy said. "There's just so many opportunitiesfor spectator viewing areas, for access, so we're very proud of that. That makes it very good, especially for '14 when will expect some pretty significant crowds here for a PGA Championship in '14,"Remy says, as in the past, the events will have millions of dollars of local economic impact. Valhalla was designed by golf legend Jack Nicklaus. The PGA bought the course, off Shelbyville Road, from the Gahm family.(Photo from valhallagolfclub.com)
