Pitino Seeks 600th Win In Season Opener

The University of Louisville basketball team opens regular season play tomorrow night, hosting the University of Tennessee at Martin.     Coach Rick Pitino is seeking the 600th victory of his collegiate head coaching career that began at Boston University in 1978.     I’ve enjoyed every aspect of it," Pitino said today of his overall coaching career, which also included stints with the NBA's New York Knicks and Boston Celtics."The only time I didn’t enjoy was the Celtic times, because we were losing. I think (NBA coach) Pat Riley always quotes it best when he says, for a coach, it’s winning and misery. If you lose, it’s misery, especially in the pros, because you have so many games,"U of L is ranked number nine in the AP pre-season poll.Tennessee-Martin won just 12 games last season but has steadily improved under third year coach Jason James.Tipoff at the KFC Yum Center is 7:00pm tomorrow.Kentucky and Indiana also play their season openers tomorrow (Fri).
