Louisville Gas and Electric officials say crews are now starting work on restoring power to individual homes.

Spokesperson Chip Keeling says most of the damaged circuits have been brought online, and now crews must focus on smaller repairs.

“After you hit a certain saturation mark within the number of customers you’re bringing back on with circuits, then you run into some broken poles, downed power lines that are in easements that are very difficult to get to,” he says. “They’re clusters that are smaller numbers of customers that are in somewhat remote areas.”

As of Tuesday morning, about 32 thousand LG and E customers were without power. Keeling estimates full restoration for the area will take a few more days.
