PRP Firefighter Details Racial Harassment Complaint

The Pleasure Ridge Park firefighter who claims his supervisor racially harassed him is talking publicly for the first time about his complaint.  Thirty-year-old firefighter Chris Glass says Captain Danny Heil used the ‘n’ word around him; made remarks about his skin color while wearing black long underwear around the station, and once dressed up like a Klansman in his presence. “I’ve been all over the state of Kentucky, and never had a problem with any racial issues," says Glass.  "Never.  Until I came to Jefferson County.”Glass added that he doesn’t believe there’s a culture of racism within the department. Glass filed an official complaint with the department, which is being investigated.  Heil has also been charged criminally with harassment and disorderly conduct.  He’s due in court May 22nd.Calls to PRP Fire Chief Vince Smith were not immediately returned.
