PSC Chairman to Help Lead National Committee

Chairman David Armstrong of the Kentucky Public Service Commission has been named to a leadership post on an international committee that helps utility regulators in developing countries. He’s been a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions Committee on International Relations since his appointment to the PSC in 2008.PSC spokesperson Andrew Melnykovych says Armstrong hopes to increase international partnerships while serving in the new post.“There’s been some expectation that there’s going to be more funding available and NARUC now is trying to revive those international exchanges, and I think the chairman is very interested in doing that and I’m sure that played into his thinking when he accepted the co vice-chair position," says Melnykovych. The NARUC committee has worked in the past with utility regulators in the former Soviet Union and some African nations.
