Ramsey Not Worried Felner Will Hurt U of L Grants

University of Louisville President James Ramsey says he doesn’t think a federal investigation of the school’s former College of Education dean will hurt its chances of obtaining future government grants.Officials are looking at Felner’s handling of a nearly $700,000 federal grant he secured to create a program to help schools to improve performance under the No Child Left Behind Act.U of L president James Ramsey says he doesn’t think that will hurt the school’s ability to obtain grants and earmarks in the future.“Our academic programs have not been affected, they’re strong and we continue to grow our research program so I think we’ll continue to be as competitive, more competitive than we’ve been in the past," says Ramsey.Ramsey also says he’s not worried about the investigation hurting the school’s reputation. He says school officials are cooperating fully with federal investigators.
