Ramsey Requests Same Bonus As Staff

The University of Louisville Board of Trustees has given school president James Ramsey a glowing job evaluation, but he won’t be getting the usual raise and performance bonus that comes with the review.Ramsey asked the trustees’ compensation committee to recommend that he receive the same $700 lump sum payment that other full time university employees are getting because of budget cuts.“I don’t want this to be about me," he said. "I don’t want it to be about what I get paid. I want it to be about the University of Louisville doing what people expect it to do.”Ramsey’s $700 bonus will be voted on by the full board of trustees Thursday at its annual retreat in Lexington.University of Kentucky President Lee Todd came under criticism last month when he accepted a 95-thousand dollar performance bonus amid budget cuts and a salary freeze at UK.
