Rand Paul Asks GOP Leaders to Include Him in Prime-Time Debate

Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul has asked party leaders to include him in Thursday's televised debate.

The Fox Business Network did not include Paul because an average of recent polling in Iowa and New Hampshire did not have him in the top five.

A poll released Wednesday from the Des Moines Register and Bloomberg Politics has Paul in fifth place in Iowa with the support of 5 percent of likely caucus goers.

The poll was not released in time to be considered for the debate, but it was conducted before the deadline.

Paul said his campaign has asked Republican party leaders to include the poll and put him in the debate.

Paul does qualify for a debate earlier in the day, but has said he would skip it.
