Rand Paul Says He Will Sue President Obama Over NSA Domestic Surveillance Program

RandPAC, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul's political arm, has announced that the Republican lawmaker will join a class action lawsuit against President Barack Obama. In a statement, Paul says the NSA's monitoring of American citizens violates the Fourth Amendment. He will file the suit in Washington D.C. Wednesday, then hold a press conference.Joining Paul will be Ken Cuccinelli, the former Virginia Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate and Matt Kibbe, who is President of conservative PAC FreedomWorks, which, incidentally, has endorsed Matt Bevin over Mitch McConnell in Kentucky's Republican Senate primary. Paul has endorsed McConnell. The RandPAC statement says NSA Director Keith Alexander, FBI Director James Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper will also be named in the suit.Paul is considered a Republican presidential contender in 2016, and it's likely he and RandPAC will continue high-profile overtures such as this as the race heats up.WFPL's Phillip M. Bailey contributed to this report.
