Rand Paul Sends E-mail to Supporters Encouraging Participation in Party Reorganization

Kentucky’s junior senator is encouraging his supporters to get involved in the reorganization of the state Republican Party. The Republican Party of Kentucky holds its reorganization every four years to coincide with presidential elections. During the process, party members elect individual precinct leaders and the head of the RPK.In an e-mail to supporters, Rand Paul asks them to take part in the precinct elections and to get involved as county delegates to the state convention where the top leaders of RPK are chosen. There’s no talk in Paul’s letter about taking over the party, but getting supporters elected to local, county and state positions is a tool the senator’s father, U.S. Representative Ron Paul, has used in the past.
