Remembering Louisville Musician Michael Tunnell

Louisville musician and educator Michael Tunnell died on Friday.

Tunnell, 60, hadserved on the faculty of the University of Louisville School of Music since 1988. Alan Brandt, from WFPL's sister station Classical 90.5,wrote:
Throughout his career, Tunnell recorded several albums, usually with other Louisville musicians and composers. He taught at the University of Louisville and was awarded the title of Distinguished Teaching Professor of Music and Scholar. Michael Tunnell performed several times for Classical 90.5's Lunchtime Classics, most recently with his trumpet studio and friends in Kentucky Baroque Trumpets, as well as with his wife Meme. From his performance in October:

Tunnell was a native of Tucson, Arizona. Thefuneral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Crescent Hill Baptist Church, 2800 Frankfort Ave.
