Retailers Prep For Black Friday

Retailers are hoping to beat the recession with this year's Black Friday sales.At Green Tree Mall in Clarksville, store and mall managers have been working since summer on their plans for the day after Thanksgiving. The final strategy includes giveaways, sales and extended hours, with some stores opening at midnight.Spokesperson Heather Edge says it'll take a few days to fully determine if the efforts paid off."Really we won't really know until after Monday when we talk to all the retailers and get their sales recap and see how things are going. I mean, a lot of it's just looking at traffic numbers," she says.Edge says she's expecting a crowded mall, as traffic to Green Tree has been up in recent weeks.
