Safe Place

Friday, March 28, 2008Safe Place

The world can be a scary place for young people. It’s designed for the needs of adults, and its resources and legal protections can be hard to access if you’re under eighteen, without an adult to help. Safe Place helps kids in crisis by bringing safe havens into their own neighborhoods – fast food restaurants, stores, community centers – so children have somewhere to go if they’re in trouble, even if they don’t have transportation. For a young person experiencing child abuse, running away, being kicked out of the house, being accosted by a stranger, or another dangerous situation, seeing that ubiquitous yellow Safe Place sign can be a life saver. Join us on Friday when we learn more about the Safe Place program – how it came about, how it works, and why it’s needed.Listen to the ShowRelated Links:
