Seasonal Vaccine Supplies Expected At Full Strength Soon

The medical director of Louisville's health department says the scattered shortages of seasonal flu vaccine across the region should soon be alleviated.Dr. Matt Zahn says some areas are running low or out of the seasonal vaccine because manufacturers have also been trying to get millions of doses of H1N1 vaccine distributed as quickly as possible."The manufacturers around the country have pledge for sure that they are going to get it (the seasonal vaccine) out there. We just have to make sure that people continue to remember and not forget that if it takes a couple weeks to get that vaccine it's still worth getting," Zahn said.More doses of the H1N1 vaccine will also be distributed soon. Hospitals and health departments recieved initial doses this week to administer to high-risk patients.
