Senate Approves Revised Road Plan

The Kentucky Senate has approved more changes to the state's two and six-year road plans. In the two-year plan, the Ohio River Bridges Project in Louisville will be funded with bonds. The six-year plan calls for the project to be paid for with federal highway funds afterward. The House previously approved road plans that use bonds for all six years. With only a few days until the legislature adjourns for a veto period, time is running out for both chambers to approve the same road plans.Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock expressed concern over the two-year bond funding for the bridges project, but he says he’s happy the Senate returns to highway funds for the remaining four years.
