Severe Weather Threat Prompts Closings

The threat of severe weather this afternoon in the Louisville area has prompted some closings and cancellations.Humana employees are being told to leave at 3pm.Catholic Schools in Jefferson County have dismissed early.There will be a staggered release of all Fort Knox personnel starting at 2pm. Those who live farthest from the base will be released first.The University of Louisville cancelled all classes at 1:00pm and afterward and its offices are also closed.Bellarmine University is also closed for the afternoon. All Louisville Metro Parks recreation sites and community centers (including Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center) will close at 3:30 this afternoon.Jefferson County Public Schools were already closed today; the district has postponedtoday’s 6th Region boys basketball games until Sunday.
