Slick Roads Lead JCPS, Other Schools To Close

Slick driving conditions in southwest and south-central Louisville led Jefferson County Public Schools to cancel classes for Wednesday.

Several other school systems in region were also closed Wednesday. They include:


  • Oldham County Public Schools
  • Bullitt County Public Schools
  • Spencer County Public Schools
  • Nelson County Schools

Others were operating on 2-hour delays. They include:


  • New Albany-Floyd County Schools
  • West Clark Community Schools
  • Greater Clark Schools

Jefferson County Catholic schools are on a delayed schedule.

Sudden snow showers are possible in the Louisville area through early Wednesday afternoon, leading to as much as an inch of additional snow, according to the National Weather Service. The accumulation could happen quickly.

Also, the high temperature for Wednesday is forecast to be 24, with wind chills near zero in the morning.
