Snow Removal Plan Unveiled

By Sheila AshMetro Government and state officials have announced plans for winter snow and ice removal. Mayor Jerry Abramson says most components of last year’s plan are being used this year."Once again some of our Public Works crews will work in the overnight shift. That seems to have worked exceptionally well. We’ve done that now for a couple of years it allows them to be ready earlier if snow in fact occurs because they’re working that night shift," he said.Abramson says the crews will also use a brine additive called IceProof, which will allow them to pre-treat roads even when the temperature drops to as low as zero. The snow team is made up of nearly 300 employees from four agencies and has over 150 pieces of equipment.
