Muhammad Ali died on June 3rd at the age of 74, and his passing sparked tributes around the world.

The boxing legend was also a poet, a political activist and a powerful advocate for the poor. And he worked to spread a message of peace through his Muslim faith.

Here in his hometown, Ali was a giant. We’ve seen celebrations and public events all week honoring the life of the man who’s known as The Greatest.

In this news special, we look back at stories the WFPL News team gathered this week, as the city and the world paid tribute to Muhammad Ali. We hear interviews with some of the people who knew him and his legacy. And we hear from Ali in his own words.
