Storm Bringing Strong Winds Approaching Louisville

A massive storm with potentially damaging winds is approaching the Louisville area on Monday afternoon, and more is forecast for the rest of the day.

Louisville and surrounding areas are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service said. And the eastern part of the city is under a flash flood warning until 5 p.m.

The weather service said "widespread damaging winds are the greatest threat" from the storm, which was about 20 miles north of Louisville just before 2 p.m.

More strong storms are expected into Monday evening.

The weather service is also warning of the potential of isolated tornadoes, hail and heavy rainfall with the storm. Several parts of Louisville flooded Sunday because of storms, and the area is also under a flood watch until Tuesday morning.
