UPDATE:  Several hundred LG&E customers were still without service across the Louisville area as of midday today.   Duke Energy says several dozen southern Indiana residents were still without power. 

Thunderstorms have been passing through the Louisville area this evening, causing scattered power outages.   An LG&E/KU spokeswoman says as of about 10:30pm, some 24,000 customers in Kentucky were without power.  One of the harder hit areas was Louisville's Highlands neighborhood, where about 11,000 customers were without service at one point.

There have been no reports of major damage or injuries.
