Strong Says He's Not Interested In Other Coaching Jobs

University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong says he’s not interested in any other coaching jobs and wants to continue building the Cardinal program.    Strong’s name has been mentioned for coaching vacancies at Texas A&M and Penn State.Strong says one rumor had him in New York City last week interviewing for the Texas A&M job when he was actually in Miami on a recruiting trip. The 51 year old Strong is in his second season at U of L, his first head coaching job, and just signed a contract extension that runs through mid-2018."I have an outstanding boss who gives me everything. I’m not looking for a job, I have the best job. I don’t need a job. And for the rumors to always pop up, they’re going to continue to pop up," Strong said today. "I know this: when I was an assistant coach, I couldn’t get a job, and the rumors always popped up, 'he’s going to get a job.' Now that I have a job, everyone’s thinking I’m going somewhere else."Strong is preparing U of L for its second straight bowl appearance. The Cards will take on North Carolina State December 27 in the Belk Bowl.(Photo courtesy of www.uoflsports.com
