Strong Winds Expected Thursday

Strong winds are expected early Thursday afternoon into the evening, ahead of "much cooler" temperatures, the National Weather Service said.Wind gusts could reach as strong as 55 miles per hour; sustained winds will be as strong as 30 miles per hour, said a wind advisory from the weather service.Scattered rain showers are also possible through Thursday, and the rainfall may convert to snow once the temperature drops. The best chance for accumulation -- as much as an inch -- is in southern Indiana and closer to Lexington. The snow would endure into Friday morning east of Interstate 65.The high temperature Friday is forecast to be 35 degrees.
