Louisville has been ranked the 7th most dangerous city for pedestrians by the national advocacy group Transportation for America.

The research group measures the number of pedestrian deaths in a city, and compares that number with other traffic-related deaths.

In Louisville, pedestrian deaths accounted for about fourteen-percent of traffic-related deaths, which is 48 pedestrian deaths in the two-year period of 2007 and 2008.

Four Florida cities topped the list, Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Jacksonville. Memphis and Raleigh also ranked worse than Louisville.
