Syndromes of Corruption: Wealth, Power and Democracy
Corruption reaches all corners of the globe, threatening democracy, economic development, and sustainability in both the poorest and richest of countries. All corruption is not created equal, though. Political Science professor Michael Johnston has discovered the link between a country's political and economic patterns and the type of corruption which occurs there. His work and its implication for reform earned Johnston the 2009 Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order.
