Tandy To Run For Council Presidency

Louisville Metro Councilman David Tandy has won the Democratic caucus' support for council presidency.Tandy says he expects to face Republican Councilman James Peden for the post. Democrats will have a 16 to 10 advantage over Republicans when the election is held next month,  but Tandy says he’s not taking anything for granted.Tandy says he also hasn’t ruled out eventually running for mayor,  but he’s now focused on the council presidency.“After that, we do the best we can and we let the people of Louisville decide if they would like to see me or someone like me move up to another level and serve in a different capacity, then we’ll address that at that time," he says. The council will vote for its next president at the January 8th meeting. The winner will replace Democrat Jim King.
