"The Kentucky Show" Scales Back

Lack of attendance has caused “The Kentucky Show” to scale back. WFPL’s Elizabeth Kramer has more.“The Kentucky Show” is the video production about the state’s history, culture and commerce that opened last September at the Kentucky Center. Last week, “The Kentucky Show” decreased its airings on most days from eight to three presentations.Project marketing director Tim King says attendance has been lower than expected.¼br /> "From where I though we were going to be from the middle of September to the end of ’08, we’re probably down 2,000 to 3,000 people," King says.He says the project overestimated attendance for the winter months, which colleagues from other cultural attractions on Main Street had warned against."They said, 'Tim, don’t expect too much during the winter months because none of us do like we would like to do during the winter months,'" he says.King says it's not just the inclement weather but the economic recession which have been factors. He says the new schedule will remain in effect until March 31 but he will add shows if there are specific requests from large groups.
