by Gabe BullardToday is the deadline to register to vote in Kentucky's May 18th primary.Anyone who will be 18 by Election Day on November 2nd can register to vote in the primaries. Secretary of State spokesperson Les Fugate says with jobs on the line in some local elections and hot-button issues getting more public attention, he's expecting a surge of registrations. But primaries, he says, don’t tend to attract as many new voters as general elections."We'll typically see a larger spike right before a general election than we will before a primary election because campaigns don't focus as much on the registration issue and as well, the third party groups don't care as much about primary elections as they do about general elections," he says. The deadline to register to vote for the general election is October 4th.
