Tonight's Downtown Trolley Hop Canceled, Weather Concerns Cited

Louisville Downtown Partnership has called off the monthly Downtown First Friday Trolley Hop event tonight. No additional trolleys will run downtown, 5-11 p.m., tonight. This announcement follows yesterday's postponement of the planned "Miracle on Fourth Street" holiday caroling and window display celebration (the event has been rescheduled for next Friday evening). Earlier today, many art galleries, including The Green Building Gallery and Local Speed, announced on social media they would not be open for tonight's monthly First Friday Trolley Hop gallery receptions because of forecasts for snow, sleet and freezing rain. Theatre [502]'s monthly performance of the serial play "The Stranger and Ludlow Quinn" at Baron's Theatre in Whiskey Row Lofts is also canceled. In a release, Trolley Hop organizers say:  After speaking with our associates at TARC, our premier title sponsor Republic Bank and several participating members, we have decided to CANCEL tonight's Trolley Hop event due to inclement weather conditions. There will be no additional trolleys running from 5-11 p.m. tonight. Please stay tuned for upcoming decisions regarding possible rescheduling for the event.
