Trail Riders Summit Set For This Week

A popular pastime for thousands of horse enthusiasts will be the focus of a three-day meeting later this month at Barren River State Resort Park. The Kentucky Horse Council and the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) are hosting the sixth annual Kentucky Trail Summit.“Trail riders are by far the largest aspect of the equine industry in the state of Kentucky. There’s been estimated anywhere from 80,000 to 100,000 trail riders who have their horse, whether they use it to show as well, or if it’s just their backyard pet, they like to trail ride,” says KEEP Field Director Cara Stewart.Stewart says the summit will include sessions for seasoned trail riders as well as beginners. The event runs January 28 -30.
