Trainers, Jockeys Make Final Preps For Derby 135

The 135th Kentucky Derby will be run shortly after 6:00pm Saturday, with a full field of 20 in the Run for the Roses. The early favorite, at 3 to 1, is I Want Revenge, followed by co-second favorites Dunkirk and Pioneer of the Nile, at 4-1. The third favorite, at 5 to 1, is Friesan Fire, trained by Larry Jones, who says his jockey, Gabriel Saez, has formed a special bond with the horse."He believes everytime he goes out there that he can win the race.    He has it where that he just really believes it and the first thing you know the horse believes it too.   He just has a way of transferring it over to the horse.   He's been able to do than in many cases for me and i'm counting on him doing that with Friesan Fire.    Friesan Fire is undefeated since he got on him.    There's something going on,"  Jones said.Jones' Derby entry last year was the filly Eight Belles, who, with Saez aboard, broke down just after finishing second and had to be euthanized.Friesan Fire will run from the number six post position.
