U Of L Puts Forth $1.1 Billion Master Plan

The University of Louisville Board of Trustees has approved a concept for a new 20-year master plan. The plan calls for investments in several new facilities, including a classroom building. University President James Ramsey says the school has a shortage of classroom space and he'll ask the General Assembly to put money toward the plan in next year's legislative session."We know it will be a difficult legislative session. We don't know if there will be an capital projects, but we have to have additional classroom space at the University of Louisville."How much will you be asking for?"About $75 million."The total cost of the projects in the master plan is 1.1 billion dollars. Ramsey says some buildings like residence halls and athletic facilities would eventually pay for themselves, while other facilities would likely be funded by donations.
