U of L Trying To Keep Bowl Hopes Alive

The University of Louisville football team takes on West Virginia tomorrow at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The 5-5 Cards need a victory to become bowl eligible and coach Steve Kragthorpe believes his team must notch another win on December 4 at Rutgers to secure a bid."If we don't then it becomes a very subjective situation again. So we want to take the subjectivity out of it, win the last two games and play a 13th," Kragthorpe said.Last year the Cards finished the regular season with a 6 and 6 record but did not receive a bowl bid.Saturday's contest is the final home game for 22 U of L seniors, including quarterback Hunter Cantwell. Kickoff is at noon.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
