U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

They construct lighthouses, build piers, clear sandbars, and help in times of natural disaster, including work on flood prevention. They construct military bases and hospitals, and for the past 200 years have helped river traffic naviagate the Falls of the Ohio. They are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and while we may hear a lot about them when levies are in the news, their mission goes beyond what we read in the headlines. This Tuesday we'll learn more about the Corps and its history.
