University of Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari has been elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Calipari is among eleven members of the Class of 2015. The class will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame in September.

Calipari’s Wildcats won their first 38 games this season before losing in the Final Four to Wisconsin. He has taken four UK teams to the national semifinals in the last six years and won the national title in 2012.

He also took the Massachusetts and Memphis programs to the Final Four, but those appearances were vacated because of NCAA rules violations by players.
Also going into the Hall of Fame is former UK star Louie Dampier.

As a professional, Dampier played in the American Basketball Association during all nine seasons of its existence. He spent his entire ABA career with the Kentucky Colonels, where he was a seven-time all-star.
