UofL Law School Dean Reacts to Sotomayor Nomination

President Barack Obama named his Supreme Court nominee this morning, setting the stage for the vetting of 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals judge Sonia Sotomayor.  Dean Jim Chen at the University of Louisville law school says she will be an ideal successor to retiring associate justice David Souter, who was one of the left-leaning members of the court.“I think she’ll step in and be a reliable, perhaps very persuasive, powerful, left-of-center voice, certainly left of the court’s current center," says Chen.If confirmed by the Senate, Sotomayor will be the first Hispanic and the third woman to sit on the high court.
