The 2008 Kentucky Derby is history, but Louisville still has another major sporting event on the calendar. The Ryder Cup matches between teams of top golfers from the U.S. and Europe will be played in September at Valhalla Golf Course.U.S. team captain Paul Azinger says a new point system is in place this year to determine who gets on the squad."Eight guys make the team and that's not established until the Sunday night of the PGA Championship, which doesn't take place until August, so we've got a long way to go before the team's established. but it's starting to show signs (that) there's guysthat are going to be hard to get off the team."Azinger says Tiger Woods has already securd a spot on the team, and it appears past members such as Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk and Stewart Cink will be back on board.Azinger was in Louisville over the weekend to attend the Kentucky Derby and to check on the course conditions at Valhalla. The European team is coached by Nick Faldo.
