Volunteers Needed For World Equestrian Games

From WFPL's Haley HartThe 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are less than a year away and event coordinators are looking for local volunteers for the event.World Games spokesperson Amy Walker says the foundation needs thousands of Kentucky volunteers to assist with a variety of jobs.“A volunteer may take tickets, greet spectators, provide information to visitors, help with transportation, or even work as a small response team in different areas in the venue; so there are many and varied opportunities to volunteer as a general volunteer for the games,” Walker said.The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will start in September 2010 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.   Total attendance is expected to exceed 650,000.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
