WFPL Does Fancy Farm

Our reporting team is headed to Graves County, Kentucky for the 131st annual Fancy Farm picnic, which is the epicenter of state politics and the official kick-off to the fall campaign. The two dozens speakers have all confirmed for Saturday's event, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who will likely serve as attack dogs for state Sen. David Williams R-Burkesville, in his bid to unseat Democratic Governor Steve Beshear.Other statewide candidates and departing state officials will also address the crowd, which is expected to be well over 10,000 people from across the commonwealth.Follow us on Twitter @WFPLNewswith the hashtag #fancyfarm for updates. The news crew will also be updating from their Twitter accounts here, here, here and here. The raucous political theater begins at 2 p.m. CDT (3 p.m. in Louisville).
